Frequently Asked Questions Print

We have compiled a list of FAQ's for you to answer outstanding questions about our work flow, services and payments terms.

You have requested a quotation. What's next?

If you have received a quotation from us and want to place an order you need to accept the quotation by signing it and by sending it to fax # 088 021 555 4849. Please be advised that a deposit of 50% is payable upon receipt of your accepted quotation.

You may ask yourself why we require a deposit. Well, designing and developing a website is a time-consuming process. In your own interest we need to make sure that all our websites are 100% unique and reflect the customers individual wishes and requirements. To provide the best possible service we have to split the development costs.

I've signed the quotation and paid the deposit. What happens then?

After we have received confirmation of your deposit we will start with the graphic design of your website. To give you a broad choice of designs we usually provide 2-3 different concepts according to your original design brief and additional requirements. If you have no idea what your website should look like we will gladly assist you brainstorming and / or provide you with our own interpretation. According to your requirements the graphic design process may take between two and five working days.

I've approved a design. What is the next step?

Once you have decided on a design we require a written acceptance of your chosen design concept. After that we start developing your actual website. At this stage we need the content of your website in Microsoft Word format, as well as any photographs, graphics, tables or .pdf files you would like to publish on your new website.

As all our websites have specific requirements it is difficult to set a time-frame for the development phase. You can be certain that we want you to benefit from your website as soon as possible but without any lacks in performance or security.

Can I request changes after completion?

After we have completed the development of your website, we'll upload it to your hosting server and ask you to test your website for a period of one week. During this phase you may request changes, or report any bugs that occur as long as the changes are in line with the original development brief.

In addition to that our staff will train you in managing the Content Management System (CMS) – the backbone of your website. After the training you will be able to maintain the content of your website by yourself. You will be able to change text, photographs and documents fast, easy and whenever you want to without having to wait for a web designer to do that for you.

Once you are 100% happy with your website we request you to settle the account.

Who owns my website after it is completed?

YOU DO! Once your account is fully settled, you are in full ownership of your website. Upon request all designs, and the complete website will be given to you on a CD or DVD. We always back-up your entire website onto your hosting server. This backup is available for download at any time.

Because all our development is done from scratch in-house - there will never be any license problems down the line.

Do you accept credit cards?

Unfortunately not.

Does Public Instinct offer payment options?

Yes we do. We know that financing a website according to your needs could become costly. Therefore we offer different payment options by means of monthly instalments. You are welcome to benefit from our payment options provided that the 50% deposit has been paid in full.

Do I have to host my website with Public Instinct?

Off course not. You can choose your own service provider if you like to. But if you decide to host your website with us be reminded that we have a strong partner on our side which is one of the most reliable and affordable hosting providers in the country.
